Marina Kitchen at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina is celebrating dads with a special three-course prix fixe dinner for Father’s Day. The “Flight School” menu has tastings of craft brews, wine, and for the Ron Swanson dads, some small batch bourbon.
“Marina Kitchen is commemorating Father’s Day in true machismo style,” says Steve Pagano, Hotel Manager for the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina. Modern comfort food choices include a mouth watering rib tasting with beef short ribs, lamb ribs, and Niman Ranch baby backs as appetizers. A smoked 12 hour roasted NY Brandt beef and a namesake MK truffle burger are some of the main entrees dads can choose from. Diners can top off the Father’s Day feast with one of the house pies or with a grown up milk shake which is laced with bourbon and bacon.
The menu is handcrafted by Executive Chef, Aron Schwartz who has a strong belief in using high quality seasonal ingredients by making partnerships with local farmers, fishermen, and butchers. Suppliers include Suzie’s Farm, Go Green Organics, Connelly Gardens, and Famgro Farms amongst others.
“Our Father’s Day menu is a salute to dads everywhere,” states Steve Pagano. The special menu is priced at $38 per person with the libation flights at $16 each. Military receive a 10% discount and a special take away gift. Along with the dad-centric menu, patrons can celebrate Father’s Day while enjoying panoramic views of the bay. It’s no wonder that the Marina Kitchen at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina was voted by San Diego magazine as the readers’ pick for the best 2013 hotel restaurant.
